1987 Jaguar XJ-S

Price:  £sold

A modern classic, garage stored between 2004 and 2012 and used regularly since being returned to the road.

The bodywork is very good, repainted red from pale metallic blue in around 2002 and done well. There are a couple of rust spots near the bottom of the doors but nothing much elsewhere.

Mechanically the car is excellent, always easy to start, runs sweetly and very quiet on the road. I have fitted a new oil cooler less than 1000 miles ago, the spark plugs, wires, cap and rotor were replaced around 3000 miles ago. 2 new tyres were recently fitted to the front and it's also had new front brake discs and pads. At the last MoT test the only problem was a blown fuse for the fog lights.

The seats, carpet and dash are excellent, the only sign of wear being a small piece of the beading on the outside of the driver's seat back, a common problem. The headlining has recently been replaced. Even the boot is spotless and containis a complete factory toolkit.

I think this car is easily as good as those for sale elsewhere for twice the price but I'm being realistic and think this is an appreciating classic.
